Football, King Of Sports

On 22nd of May, 2.30am in the morning was the showdown of the European Champions League Finals, where Manchester United and Chelsea are up against each other.
Me and Shing Yee(My house mate) when to Mc Donalds at 1.30am, an hour before the kick off, but the place was already crowded with people. There weren't enough chairs to sit all of the crowds that day that some of them went in to take the chairs while others sat on the railing bars. Me and Shing Yee was lucky that we found a spot far behind from the projector screen but clear enough to enjoy the match.
The atmosphere there was intense! People were shouting and screaming and booeing at the opponents team or player that they didn't like. Way before even the match starts, people were already chanting and singing songs of their favorite club. Such passion...
Although I was a fan of MU but I wasn't as crazy as the other supporters. It was fun having such atmosphere, almost feel like we were in the stadium its self.

2.35am, finally the match started, after much intense waiting and screaming and shouting and singing. Every time the a player strikes the ball, it stirs with the crowd with excitement and pressure at the stadium and at McD itself. Some of us was hoping the ball to pass the goal line while others was bitting their teeth and holding their hands tight like in a prayer hoping for the opposite results. Whenever a goal is score, people will be jumping off their chair literally and creaming like crazy as if they won 1million dollar or something.

The most intense moment came to the penalty shoot out where both teams cancel each other out with a draw when full-time of a normal match, and to decide a winner it has to come to a penalty kick. No one loves penalty kick, because it only takes one mistake, one miss to turn the table around and the hope of becoming the champions, slowly fades away. Every one was one their feet, they were standing and I couldn't get a clear view of the white screen, so I too stand on the chair and chant "MU, MU, MU, MU...." Honestly this is the first time in public I was so excited and couldn't care less of what people think....or maybe because everyone was doing it?? Hmm....
Each time a Manchester United player goes up to the penalty spot to take the kick, all the united fans will be silently watching the every steps that player make. The whistle blows and the player gave a nice powerful kick to the ball..........its a goal!! And all the United fans scream like theres no tomorrow....So now its Chelsea's turn to take up the penalty kick, and all the united fans will be screaming the goalkeeper's name, and screaming and chanting as if the players in Moscow(the finals were held in Russia) could hear us.....ridiculous huh? The whistle blows and they kick........it was a saved!! And MU won the penalty shoot out!!! And the whole McD was upside down people were shouting and chanting all the MU slogans and making so much noise. Even the McD workers was amuse by the craziness that they stood by the glass door to watch us celebrate. The Chelsea fans was upset and left the premise. I left shortly after that and when about to reach my house, I could still hear noise and feel the vibe coming from McD. Shing Yee claim that she is the reason why MU won, just because she watch the match...haha. We reach home about 5am in the morning.

The next day my friend told me that a mamak near by called Banana-Leaf was even more worst then what happen in McD. Several chair "lost their life" because people were throwing them and jumping on them and they eventually broke....Poor chairs....

Oh, what a match what an atmosphere what a feeling. Football according to research is the world number one sports game, that no other sports was held in a world wide scale accept football. And when the world cup season hits, the world seems to stop, just to watch 22men chase after one ball.
